Winter is coming to an end, the change of season is getting closer and it is nearly time to do the famous spring clean. But before you get started, why not sort and organise your cleaning products so you get on with it quickly and more efficiently?
If you have enough space, dedicate an entire wardrobe for cleaning products
This is the perfect solution for those who have a utility room or at least space somewhere to put up a new wardrobe. The biggest advantage of storing all your cleaning products in the same place is the amount of time you’ll save looking for the items you need. Everything will be in one place: organised products = time saved! Having one wardrobe dedicated to cleaning products will only be effective if it is kept organised. Here are a couple of tricks to keep everything organised and easy to find: use baskets to store items by type, for example, one basket for bathroom cleaners and one for window cleaning tools. The second trick is to use self-adhesive hooks and stick them to the wardrobe door to create instant extra storage for cleaning rags and cloths.
Organise your cleaning products by room
If you are not lucky enough to have space to be able to put a wardrobe dedicated to cleaning products, then it is best to organise them by room. Store antibacterial cleaners and bleach in the bathroom, de-greasing sprays and ceramic hob cleaner in the kitchen… This way you will have everything you need at hand when you are cleaning in each room. If you are still struggling for storage space, you can always use under sink shelves which are ideal for both bathrooms and kitchens. Another solution for lack of space is wall and door storage systems that will allow you to use empty walls and doors as extra storage space for your cleaning products.

Discover the ideal storage product for every type of cleaning product
To do the cleaning we need different types of products: bleach bottles or cleaners, utensils such as mops and brooms, rags, cloths and sponges… Next we will show you the ideal storage product for each type of cleaning tool.
Bottles and containers: wooden boxes or baskets are the best option for storing bottles and cleaning sprays. Organise each box or basket by product type so you can easily find what you need and carry them from room to room.
Cloths and cleaning rags: the main advantage of these types of products is that we can hang them, so the best solution for keeping them tidy are hanging hooks. If you have a dedicated cleaning cupboard the best option will be adhesive hooks that you can put behind the door. If you have opted for organising your cleaning products by room, then you can use suction cup hooks, which will stick to bathroom or kitchen tiles.
Sponges and scouring pads: Whether you have a wardrobe for all your cleaning products or store them in the room where you use them, it is best to store your sponges and scouring pads in baskets. We usually buy these types of products in packs, so we can split used and unused into different baskets. However, if you want to reuse your scouring pads and sponges make sure they are dry before storing them for future use.
Brooms and mops: It’s no secret that brooms and mops take up space due to their size and it can be hard to find a place to store them. If you have a wardrobe for your cleaning products, it’s best to hang your mops and brooms behind the door with adhesive hooks. If you are storing your cleaning products by room, it is advised to use specially designed storage units. In both cases the best option is to hang them so they are kept clean and off the floor.
We hope our storage and organisation tips have helped you learn how to store your cleaning products. We promise that if you spend a few minutes organising them before starting the spring cleaning, the task will be much more bearable!
